We had similar experiences- they thought our little Eden was going to be 10-12 pounds because that is “how you are measuring” and they wanted to induce labor. After refusal to be induced, and allowing her to come naturally we were grateful! When she was born (3 pushes, quick labor, etc.) she was 7 pounds and 21 inches long. She wasn’t even close to being 12 pounds- she was just a long little one. Thank you (all of you) for being champions of natural childbirth.

Great to hear their story. I love that they really tried to communicate with the doctors and not just be aggressive with them. This is how we can change the perspective of the medical industry-by continuing to hold strong to our beliefs while communicating calmly and intelligently. We hope little by little doctors will open to more holistic and truly healthy ways. I feel sad for those out there that don’t speak up and just blindly follow orders even though it goes against their instincts.

What a lovely couple! Such a delightfully calm and gentle way of expressing themselves. Greatly appreciate their respectful attitude in dealing with the medical community. Kindly educating those they had to deal with seems to be a such a positive approach to a difficult situation. Really is sad that pregnancy/birth is seen as medical issue that needs drastic, intrusive intervention.

I’m wondering if either couple monitored your glucose levels at home during the third trimester? I refused the glucose test but my levels are almost always low unless I eat grapefruit and then they go above ‘normal’. did your levels ever go above ‘normal’ on the raw food diet? were they ever low during the day?

I feel the same way right now Matt, lots of anger about the state of the world. It’s just amazing how f****ed up things are. I love you guys so much and you have been such an inspiration. Use that good anger.
I felt so cheated when I found out about orgasmic birth, all of this time I was fooled into believing that childbirth had to be painful, but some women have orgasmic birth. Amazing!
